Road Trip 2010 - Day 1

My first entry in a photo blog, and no photos. Hmmph.

Excuse #1 - It was dark when I left
Excuse #2 - It is a gray (grey?) day.
Excuse #3 - The view from here is a Motel 6 and a gas station.

Well, I'm on my way, so...

I got off to a good start; left right on time.  Some folks might say I was three hours late, but a great philosopher once said (supposedly anyway) -

"Vacation you are on. Leave or not leave, there is no late."

I made a few stops to hug various family members, and crossed the border around midnight. Had to pull over a couple of times. I think my sleep deprivation is going to wreak vengeance, but that too is a good thing, and maybe I'll catch up.

Right now I'm sitting in a Panera Bread restaurant in Lima, OH drinking a rather good dark roast coffee, and the "Whole Grain Breakfast Power Sandwich", while tasty, needs new batteries. I think I'll grab a cookie. Oh, Cookie. I miss my pussycat.

Oh yeah - it's Martin Luther King day. Pretty much everything is closed. It would have been really cool to be in Memphis today. Unfortunately, that's another 8 or 9 hours, so I'd miss the church services and other events. Maybe I'll find something along the way. You should hear some of the talk radio. I'm not even in the south yet, but yee-hah!

Later, eh?
